We apply proven methods and a standard of excellence to our selection procedures. The objective is to ensure that we achieve the perfect fit with successful candidates – both for the company and for the candidates. Please review our recruitment process before sending us an application.
Your Application
Upon application, your qualifications, abilities and experience will be reviewed by our recruitment agents to determine if you are a suitable candidate. If you are a possible match for a position, a recruiter will contact you to learn more about your background and answer your questions about our recruitment process and what it's like to work at Game Theorem.
Telephonic Interview
You applied for a position and your professional profile fits the job. The telephonic interview assesses your technical skills and proficiency, to determine whether we should meet with you for an in-person interview. A typical phone interview is conducted by an employee in a similar role and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Psychometric Assessment
All applicants are required to complete an online psychometric and aptitude assessment. To ensure an employment relationship would be appropriate and mutually beneficial, we assess your personality, the values and motives that determine your behaviour and your verbal, numeral and abstract reasoning abilities. If required, a psychometrist may interview you to qualify the results of your assessment.
Panel Interview
You may be required to sign a confidentiality agreement before being interviewed in-person. The interview process for technical positions evaluates your core software engineering skills including algorithm development, coding, data structures, design patterns and analytical thinking skills. You will meet with several engineers from different teams. You will be asked questions related to your area of expertise, any specialist skills you have represented to possess and may be required to solve problems in real time. For business and general positions, we evaluate your problem solving and behavioural abilities. Notably, we want people who understand that, irrespective of the approach to any given problem or requirement, delivering a successful solution is unconditional. We avoid people who prefer to explain why they failed than to deliver successfully. Game Theorem values winning and there is no second place.
Evaluation Process
We hire extraordinary people and involve them in the hiring process to get more extraordinary people. Every person who interviews for a position engages with multiple interviewers, comprised of both management and potential colleagues, who compare the candidates to the job requirements and each other to ensure the best person is successful. We take hiring very seriously and make consensus-based decisions. It can take up to two weeks for us to make a definitive decision as to whether we would like to have you join the team.
Personal Information
Before offering you a position, we may require certain personal information for security purposes, reference checks and to verify verbal representations you made during the process. Such personal information may include a copy of your passport, proof of your income as declared to a tax authority and a medical clearance for work permits. If you are unable or unwilling to provide such personal information under our confidentiality agreement prior to receiving an offer of employment, please do not engage in our recruitment process.
Appointment Decision
Your recruiter will communicate any feedback during the process and when a decision has been made regarding your employment. Our hiring process may take longer than most but it is of a high standard and unequivocally fair.
